About

The Geography Department is a dynamic academic division dedicated to studying the Earth's landscapes, environments, and the relationships between people and their environments. As an interdisciplinary field, geography bridges the natural and social sciences, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the Earth's physical aspects and the human societies spread across it.

The Department of Geography was founded in 2017 to equip its graduates with the ability to critically analyze the discipline's many issues as well as the confidence to pursue careers in related and linked professions. The teachers in the department are dedicated to their work, and the strongest aspect of our department is the goodwill we share with our learners. These connections help students become more motivated to attend classes regularly and perform better. In addition to the standard academic activities based on the syllabus, the Department of Geography also organizes a variety of extracurricular activities such as seminars, Student seminars, invited lectures, awareness programs, wall magazine publications, etc. Currently, students can choose between three years of Honours and General degree programs provided according to admission based on merit. Our department also provides the necessary equipment for practical available in sufficient numbers.

Vision

The Geography Department's vision is to enhance the analytical potential of maps and images by offering top-notch instruction to students with the greatest possible use of contemporary technologies and tools for a more effective learning experience, which helps understand the discipline better and enhance the chances of employability. 

Mission

Mission 1: Our primary goal is to prepare our learners with the skills necessary to become well-adjusted members of society and productive workers.

Mission 2: To make our students technology-friendly by offering digital learning environments with an emphasis on ICT, open-source software, GPS, improved tools and equipment, and other resources needed to help people advance as experts in their fields.

Mission 3: To educate them on the value of National integrity, social harmony, cultural values, and the orientation towards conservation of the environment.

Mission 4: To promote interest in the field of research employing field-based studies and dissertations.
