About
The Sanskrit Department at Polba Mahavidyalaya was established on 2005. Recognized for its cultural and historical significance, Sanskrit is the language of ancient Indian scriptures and a cornerstone of our heritage. "Sanskrit is the language of the Gods", beautifully expresses the divine nature of this ancient language.
Initially offering only a general course, the department expanded to include an honours course, reflecting the growing interest and dedication of our students. Since its inception in 2005, the department has seen numerous batches of students graduate, contributing to the academic and cultural fabric of our nation.
Our esteemed faculty includes Dr. Kali Prasad Mishra (HOD, Associate Professor), Dr. Preetam Mandal (Assistant Professor), and Shri Bikash Pal (SACT - II), all of whom are committed to fostering a deep understanding of Sanskrit literature, philosophy, and linguistics.
The department has successfully guided several batches of students, with each cohort contributing to the preservation and promotion of Sanskrit.
With its profound influence on Indian thought, literature, and science, the Sanskrit Department at Polba Mahavidyalaya continues to play a vital role in preserving this timeless language. By nurturing future scholars and enthusiasts, we uphold the legacy of Sanskrit and its enduring relevance in contemporary India.
