The Department of Mathematics at Polba Mahavidyalaya is a vibrant and dynamic community dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and the advancement of mathematical sciences. Our curriculum is designed to equip students with a strong foundation in core mathematical concepts. The department is actively engaged in cutting-edge research in the field of applied mathematics.

The Department of Mathematics was founded in the year 2016. It plays a significant role in providing quality mathematics education, which is essential for the overall development of students and the community. Mathematics is not just a subject for engineering or other technical fields; it is a critical skill for everyday life, decision-making, and understanding the world around us.

The Department of Mathematics endeavour to bridge the educational gap between rural and urban areas by providing access to quality mathematics education in rural areas. This can lead to increased opportunities for students from rural backgrounds and contribute to a more equitable society. Pursuing a degree in mathematics from an undergraduate college in India opens up a plethora of career opportunities ranging from academia to industry roles across different sectors. Students can further their education or directly enter the workforce including Banking sectors, Railways, Combined Graduate Level Examinations, Medical Representatives, and many more, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills gained through their mathematical studies.
